Give and Take!

So I started off this blogging thing with relative success and was able to make several post in a very short span of time. I have now found out why this is so hard to do. TIME with a capital T! Blogging, I have found, isn't on the top of my list of things to do. But I have a dilemma because I enjoy writing and sharing things that are going on. So as one of my many resolutions I am going to try to do this on a more consistent basis.

So we have come to another new year, 2010! Speaking of resolutions for the new year, did you make any? Last year I had given up all forms of Chips. Potato, Nacho, Dorito, etc. And it was well worth the "weight." I was able to gorge myself on new years eve with a bunch of Chips, and unfortunately for me the next day and the day after that as well. Now that I have had my fill for the first few days of the year I am now ready to focus more on the things I am going to take away this year, and also the things I am going to do more often.

Resolutions for this year are as follows. The normal every other year fast food fast (no fast food this year). Giving up candy in all forms (I will miss my personal favorite the Twix bar) and Caffeine after 5 PM (This is more of a sleep aid and has been doing wonders for me recently) But on to something I am trying to more this year. I had blogged earlier about reading a book a week this year, and I have to say I think I am overwhelmed with that number of books. So I have shifted the number to 25. On top of that I am doing the Bible Challenge at my church. So that will be plenty of reading for the new year! I am starting with the book "Vintage Jesus" by Mark Driscoll ending with "Not sure yet" by me. I don't really have an order yet. I do have the list down to these books

1) "Vintage Jesus"
2) The Score Takes Care of Itself - Bill Walsh
3) The Five Love Languages - Gary Chapman
4) Your First Two Years in Youth Ministry - Doug Fields
5) Zero to Sixty - Bob Franquiz
6) The Reason For God – Tim Keller
7) Sticky Church – Larry Osborne
8) Presentationzen - Garr Reynolds
9) The Pillars of Biblical Power - John Rankin
10) Outliers - Malcolm Gladwell
11-15) Fiction TBD
16) An Unstoppable Force - Erwin McManus
17) Spirtual Leadership - J. Oswald Sanders
18) To Busy Not to Pray - Bill Hybels
19) Fusion - Nelson Searcy (Really Just Finishing this)
20-25) TBD For staff meetings, but I will let you know)

Not to bad of a list of books and I am up for the challenge.
